Student Records

FERPA (The Federal Education Right to Privacy Act) and Section 504 and IDEA: Each parent/eligible student has the right to review (make an appointment with the school and visually inspect) their student’s educational records. Please note that a district employee will be present during the record review).

Parents/eligible students should make all requests to receive copies of educational records in writing to the District Records Facilitator.

• The parent/eligible student will receive a digital copy of the records at no charge.
• Should a parent/eligible student request copies of any or all records the cost of copies is $0.20 cents per page.
• The parent/eligible student will be informed, in writing of the cost before copies are made.
• If the parent/eligible student requests a waiver of the charges all such requests for waiver should be submitted, in writing, to the Superintendent of Schools for consideration.

The IDEA affords each parent/eligible student with an IEP the right to receive 1 free copy of a student’s educational record during the student’s educational career (prek-21) upon written request of such records.

• Requests for copies of educational records should be submitted to the District Records Facilitator.
• PLEASE NOTE: Should a parent/eligible student request records under IDEA at the school, the school will forward any and all such requests to the attention of the District Records Facilitator immediately upon receipt of the request.
• Should the parent/eligible student request additional copies of any or all records previously provided, the cost of copies is $0.20 cents per page.
• The parent/eligible student will be informed, in writing of the cost before copies are made.
• If the parent requests a waiver of the charges, all such requests for waiver should be submitted, in writing, to the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services for consideration.
