Two Fairfield Schools Named Schools of Distinction By CT Department of Education

Timothy Dwight School and Holland Hill School have been deemed Schools of Distinction in the latest Connecticut accountability report. Dwight earned the distinction for High Performance and Holland Hill earned the distinction for High Growth in Math for all students and high needs students.

Every year, the Connecticut State Department of Education measures each school and district on a set of twelve indicators related to preparing students for college, career, and life. The indicators provide an integrated perspective of school and district performance. Some of these indicators include assessment results, graduation rates, attendance, physical fitness, arts access, and academic growth over time. 

The title, School of Distinction, is given to primary and secondary schools which score in the top ten percent of individual indicators each year.

“Our dedicated staff members work diligently each day to ensure that our students are prepared for a successful future,” said Fairfield Public Schools Superintendent Michael J. Testani. “We are proud to have Dwight and Holland Hill named Schools of Distinction and will continue to focus on supporting our students both academically and from a social emotional perspective.”
