Possible Monday Bus Delays
September 24, 2021
Good morning,
You may have heard on the news about a walkout of 300 school bus drivers across the state on Monday, September 27 in response to the state COVID-19 vaccine mandate. To date, Fairfield has been fortunate not to have experienced the bus driver shortages that have seriously impacted other districts. We are currently working with our transportation department to determine how we can cover routes on Monday (and the rest of next week), in the event of driver shortages.
At this point, we do not know exactly how many or which drivers may not report to work on Monday. While we are looking at alternative plans, they may involve significant delays.
While we remain hopeful we will have enough drivers Monday morning, we ask that you prepare a backup transportation plan for your child for Monday (and possibly the rest of next week).
If we have any more information today or over the weekend, we will send out additional messages through Infinite Campus.
Thank you for your continued support.
Take care,
Mike
