School Bus Fire Update - July 15, 2024

Earlier this afternoon, a substantial school bus fire occurred on Richard White Way. There were no students on the bus at the time of the incident, and the bus driver was not injured. The Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched quickly to the scene to manage the situation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

FPS works collaboratively with our school bus provider and emergency responders throughout the school year to ensure that drivers are trained in case of an emergency. Students also practice emergency bus safety during the year.
