Ms. Maureen Sullivan Named Program Director of Student Support and Mental Health Services
FPS is pleased to announce Ms. Maureen Sullivan as program director of Student Support and Mental Health Services beginning with the 2023-24 school year.
Ms. Sullivan brings a wealth of background surrounding mental wellness to her new role and will work to implement social emotional and therapeutic approaches and strategies for students and staff across the district. Ms. Sullivan joined Fairfield in 2021 as teacher leader of school psychologists/social workers.
Prior to joining Fairfield, Ms. Sullivan served as special education administrator and supervisor of School Psychology and Social Work departments for Norwalk Public Schools. In this leadership role, Ms. Sullivan facilitated the development of a variety of programs including school-based therapeutic programs for students, which infused school-based Dialectical Behavioral Therapy methodologies into classrooms.
Ms. Sullivan also worked as a school psychologist at Bullard Havens Technical High School where she provided counseling services, crisis intervention, conducted evaluations and developed and facilitated a variety of interpersonal and social emotional lessons. She began her career in education as a school psychologist at Great Oak Middle School in Oxford.
