FIVE FAIRFIELD SCHOOLS NAMED SCHOOLS OF DISTINCTION BY THE CONNECTICUT STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Fairfield, Conn (January 3, 2023) – Five Fairfield schools have been deemed Schools of Distinction in the latest Connecticut accountability report.
Every year, the Connecticut State Department of Education measures each school and district on a set of twelve indicators related to preparing students for college, career, and life. The indicators provide an integrated perspective of school and district performance. Some of these indicators include assessment results, graduation rates, attendance, physical fitness, arts access, and academic growth over time.
The title, School of Distinction, is given to primary and secondary schools which score in the top ten percent of individual indicators each year. This year, Fairfield Public Schools is honored that the following schools earned distinction status in one or more areas:
• Burr Elementary School
• Holland Hill Elementary School
• Mill Hill Elementary School
• Stratfield Elementary School
• Jennings Elementary School
“We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of our students, educators, and staff,” said Fairfield Public Schools Superintendent Michael J. Testani. “Together, we will continue to strive to inspire learning and improve performance and growth across the district.”
