Elementary schools (K-5) will observe a full remote learning day if a delayed opening is executed in the school district. Our elementary in-person schedule is from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. A two hour delayed opening would significantly reduce the instructional day in our elementary schools. Moreover, extending the day later without a dedicated lunch session would not be appropriate for our learners. Students in our elementary school will follow the remote learning schedule as previously articulated by the building’s principal and teachers. Instruction will be a mix of synchronous and asynchronous work with the classroom teacher and any specialists throughout the day. The early dismissal schedule above does not apply to upcoming March conferences at the elementary level.
RLA schedules are not impacted by delayed openings or early dismissals and will follow their regular daily schedule.
Thank you for your time and patience. Please contact Dr. James Zavodjancik at JZavodjancik@fairfieldschools.org if you have any questions about the above schedules.
Sincerely,
Dr. James Zavodjancik
Executive Director of Instruction, Curriculum, and Assessment
