Changes to October 13 & 20 Early Dismissal Times

Dear FPS Families,

I wanted to share an update to the early dismissal times for elementary and middle schools listed on the current October 2026 calendar. On October 13 and 20, dismissal times will be shifted earlier to accommodate conferences. High school dismissal times will not be affected.

In previous years, the district had three shortened school days during conference periods. This year, there are two days, allowing us to reduce the amount of instructional time students miss while providing families with a more consistent school schedule.

Adjusted Early Dismissal times for October 13 & 20 (lunch will be served):

Elementary Schools: 1:00PM*

*Holland Hill: 12:15PM

Middle Schools: 12:00PM

High Schools: Regular dismissal time

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school directly.

Sincerely,
Michael J. Testani

FPS Superintendent of Schools
