Dear Fairfield Families,
With winter weather just around the corner, we want to remind families about district procedures for school delays, early dismissals and cancellations. Predicting weather is always a challenge, but our top priority remains the safety of our students and staff.
Though we will do our best to inform families and staff of a cancellation, delay or early dismissal in advance, this isn’t always possible due to unforeseen circumstances or changes in weather predictions. In these cases, we rely on the most current information from local experts to help us make an informed decision.
Please be aware, there may be instances where we utilize a delay that could result in a subsequent school cancellation. This allows us to better assess a potential weather situation as it unfolds.
Inclement weather decisions could result in the following:
· Delay: The length of the delay is based on road conditions and severity of weather. A delay may result in a school cancellation if conditions continue to worsen.
· Closure: All schools are closed for the day. After-school activities and programs are cancelled.
· Early Dismissal: Students are released earlier than the regular school day. After-school programs and activities are cancelled.
· After-school cancellation: All afterschool programs and activities are cancelled.
A friendly reminder to log in to Infinite Campus to confirm and/or update your contact information and notification preferences. Instructions can be found here.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Testani
