A Message Regarding Swatting Phone Calls

Dear Fairfield Public Schools Families & Staff,

Please see the below message regarding Swatting phone calls:

Today, the Fairfield Police Department received notification that surrounding school districts have been the victim of swatting phone calls.  As of the sending of this message, no such calls have been received by any Fairfield public school.

There is no credible threat or danger to our schools, and our children are safe.  However, the Police Department along with school district administrators will continue to monitor the situation. There is no interruption to our school day, and dismissal will take place as scheduled.

“Swatting” is a term used to describe the action of a hoax phone call to report a serious crime to emergency responders and often cause alarm to the public based on the number of officers responding to the reported incident.

Regards,

Stephen Tracy

Interim Superintendent
