A Message From FPS Superintendent Michael J. Testani – Air Quality Update For June 8

Good evening FPS Families,

Due to poor air quality predicted for tomorrow, June 8, students will continue to avoid outdoor activities except for scheduled field trips. In those cases, school personnel will ensure that students are monitored closely. There will be masks available in the main office for students and staff should they choose to wear one.

We understand that everyone’s child may be affected differently and will excuse all absences for students whose families keep them home tomorrow out of an abundance of caution.

All outdoor after school activities for June 8 will be postponed or canceled. Elementary after school care will be held indoors.

We are monitoring building HVAC equipment/filtration systems and making adjustments as needed.

Our priority is the health and wellness of students and staff. We are working closely with the Fairfield Health Department and state officials as they monitor air quality conditions over the coming days. Thank you for your patience as we continue to receive and share the most updated information.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Testani

FPS Superintendent of Schools
