Next Steps in the 2026–2027 School Budget Process

Proposed Budget cover

On January 27, 2026, the Board of Education approved a proposed 2026–2027 budget of $245,944,528, representing a 5.54% increase over the current year. This budget reflects our continued commitment to supporting students, strengthening programs, and meeting the needs of our growing school community.

The proposal now moves to the Town for review and approval. In the coming weeks, it will be presented to the Board of Selectmen, the Board of Finance, and ultimately the Representative Town Meeting (RTM). These meetings will begin at the end of February and conclude with the RTM budget vote on the first Monday in May. Agendas and meeting videos will be available on the Town website on each board’s respective page.

We are grateful for the partnership of our families, staff, and community members throughout this process. Together, we remain focused on ensuring every Fairfield student is prepared to succeed in school and beyond.

Data Dashboard Photo

We’re excited to share a new resource with you! As part of our commitment to providing a high-quality education and making thoughtful, data-informed decisions, Fairfield Public Schools has launched a new district data dashboard, now available on our website.

The dashboard gives families and community members an easy way to explore information about enrollment, attendance, graduation rates, AP courses, and more across all school levels. This information reflects districtwide data and does not include individual student information. Please note: If the student count is fewer than 20, the data is suppressed to protect student confidentiality.

We invite you to take a look and learn more about our schools: https://fpsct.net/district-data
