Unified Sports
Unified Sports is a Special Olympics program that combines athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on sports teams. The program's goal is to promote acceptance and inclusion through sports. The program runs throughout the school year and includes events for middle and high school students.
Best Buddies
Best Buddies builds one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), offering social interactions while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Through their participation, people with IDD form meaningful connections with their peers, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, and share interests, experiences and activities that many other individuals enjoy.
Throughout the school year, Warde and Ludlowe High School Best Buddy chapters participate in a variety of events to build friendships, support one another and impact their community in a positive way.
Celebrations & Awareness
Students and staff acknowledge and honor Awareness Months with activities and celebrations to learn about different cultures and traditions. Awareness Months are also recognized in the superintendent's report during Board of Education meetings to connect and educate members of the community and promote inclusiveness, kindness and compassion.
