Substitutes
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher or substitute paraprofessional in our district, please complete an online application then contact Donna Gallo in our Human Resources Department at 203-255-8462. The minimum requirement for a substitute teacher is a Bachelor’s Degree. The minimum requirement for a substitute paraprofessional is an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment.
The Fairfield Public Schools uses AESOP for our absence management system. Once you have been accepted as a substitute in our district, you will be entered into AESOP, given a pin number and will be able to set up your account on AESOP to receive notices of absences in our district.
Student Teaching/Internship/Practicum
In order to be considered for a student teaching, internship or practicum placement in our district, please contact Cynthia Leighton in our Human Resources Department at 203-255-8462. A placement request must be submitted by your college or university field placement office to our Human Resources Department. Once you have been accepted to complete your student teaching, internship or practicum placement with us, our district requires certain paperwork to be completed prior to beginning your student teaching, internship or practicum.
Please do not contact the school directly. All student teaching, internship and practicum requests must go through the Human Resources Department.
