Public Service Loan Forgiveness

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) forms

Please send a scanned copy of your PSLF form to Kristen Hardiman at khardiman@fairfieldschools.org. (The Human Resources Department cannot complete Public Service Loan Forgiveness forms electronically.) Once your form is completed by the Human Resources Department, it will be emailed back to you so that you can send it to the appropriate agency. Please allow 2-3 business days for form completion. (Turn-around time for form completion may increase during our busy months of June-August.)

Substitutes

If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher or substitute paraprofessional in our district, please complete an online application in Employment Opportunities, then contact Lisa Dutkowsky in our Human Resources Department at 203-255-8476 or ldutkowsky@fairfieldschools.org. The minimum requirement for a substitute teacher is a Bachelor’s degree. The minimum requirement for a substitute paraprofessional is an Associate’s degree or 60+ college credits or a Parapro Assessment passing score. Experience with school age children is helpful.

The Fairfield Public Schools uses AESOP for our absence management system. Once you have been accepted as a substitute in our district, you will be entered into AESOP, given a pin number and will be able to set up your account on AESOP to receive notices of absences in our district.

Student Teaching/Internship/Practicum

To be considered for a student teaching, internship or practicum placement in our district, please have your college or field placement office contact Cynthia Sacco in Human Resources at 203-255- 8277 or by email at csacco@fairfieldschools.org. Once you have been accepted for your student teaching, internship or practicum placement with us, our district requires certain paperwork to be completed prior to beginning your student teaching, internship or practicum.

Please do not contact our schools directly. All student teaching, internship and practicum requests must go through the Human Resources Department. Thank you.

Volunteering

To be a volunteer in our schools on a regular basis, you must receive approval from the school Principal. Once your volunteering has been approved by the school Principal, please contact Cindy Sacco in Human Resources at 203-255-8277 or by email at csacco@fairfieldschools.org to complete the required paperwork.

Tuition Reimbursement

Interested in pursuing a Masters Degree, Sixth or Seventh Year Program and/or Doctorate? FPS is here to help by providing financial support for professional growth activities. Tuition reimbursement provisions are in place for graduate level continuing education including certifications and workshops, for all Administrators, Certified and Non-Certified Staff. Once you’ve completed your graduate level program of study, you are eligible for a Salary/Degree Change.
