Congratulations to the FPS educators whose Fairfield Foundation for Education grant proposals were accepted! Educators submitted proposals to the foundation in the fall and winter and received more than $14,000 in grants.

FPS Literacy Presentation & Update
During the April 25 BOE meeting, Executive Director of PK-12 Literacy Janine Goss presented an update on the Right to Read Legislation, Science of Reading, and the program impact on teaching and learning at FPS. Goss also spoke to the recommendations for PK and K-5 program adoptions to inform our curriculum development and implementation.

Certification Expiration Status - Renewal Changes
As of August, the Bureau of Certification will no longer send letters to educators to remind them of their certificate’s expiration date.
Previously, certification reminder letters were sent to the educator’s home address listed in their CECS file approximately three months prior to the expiration date. Certified staff members should log into your CECS account to check certification status and update contact information at the beginning and middle of the school year.
Fairfield Nurses participated in an additional emergency training focusing on the new AEDs in our schools. This training along with others attended by the nursing staff yearly, contribute to our efforts to provide the best in emergency care in the school setting.
May 5 is School Lunch Hero Day! We appreciate our food service workers who help ensure that students are ready to learn each day.
