I hope you and your families are well. It has been a beautiful day. The kids in my neighborhood have been keeping their distance from each other but still connecting. They are writing chalk messages in front of each other’s homes, even the folks without kids. My daughter Grace is in second grade and has many similar age friends in the neighborhood. We spend time each afternoon dropping pen pal letters in others’ mailboxes. The need to connect is stronger than ever.

Versions of the parent consent form were posted online in Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic, can be found here under the heading "Flexible Learning Plan - Information for Students & Parents": https://www.fairfieldschools.org/covid-19-information-and-resources
Also, on our Professional Development Day (this Friday 4/3) elementary parents will be receiving a link to an array of potential activities that your child can engage in to promote social & emotional learning. We are excited to begin a district wide focus on social-emotional activities and celebrations of learning on Fridays beginning after the spring vacation. We are so proud of the hard work that our students are doing, and we want them to be able to continue to practice this important aspect of school despite Distance Learning.
